2,000 rubles and 3.5 years in a penal colony: Moscow court sentences ornithologist Sofya Rozenfeld over FBK donations
The Gagarinsky District Court in Moscow sentenced Sofya Rozenfeld, a Doctor of Biological Sciences and senior researcher at the Institute of Ecology and Evolution of the Russian Academy of Sciences, to three and a half years in a penal colony on 7 October in a case of financing an “extremist” organisation (Part 1 of Article 282.3 of the Criminal Code, which covers the financing of extremist activity), Mediazona reported from the courtroom. Rozenfeld was taken into custody after the verdict.
