About

Vrazrez News is a publication about Russian politics, political repression and free speech. Its owner and author is Oleg Dzugkoev.

What we cover

We write about Russian politics, political repression, opposition movements, political prisoners, the suppression of peaceful protest, censorship, corruption, abuse of state power and Russian aggression against other countries, including Ukraine.

Editorial position

The publication is critical of the Russian government's authoritarian political course, of Vladimir Putin's policies, of the persecution of the opposition, the imprisonment of peaceful protesters and dissidents, censorship, and aggression abroad. We defend civil liberties, human rights, democratic accountability, peaceful political participation and the sovereignty of other countries.

Criticism follows from the documented facts of each story. We assign responsibility at the level the evidence supports: an institution, an official, a decision, or the political system as a whole. We criticize the actions and political choices of the authorities, not Russians as a people, and we assign no collective guilt.

Facts, quotations and judgment

In the text we distinguish documented facts, statements attributed to a source, and editorial interpretation. That distinction is built into the prose itself rather than set apart in a separate paragraph.

Sources

Every story carries visible links to the specific original publication or report — in the text and in the “Original sources” block at the end of the article. These are ordinary links on the page and work without JavaScript. We do not present a retelling as the original source and we do not invent links. If a source is later removed, we keep its address, say so plainly, and where possible add a verified archived copy.

Two languages

Every story is published in Russian and English together. The English version preserves the same facts, caveats, attribution and argument.

Corrections

Corrections are a normal part of the work. We mark material corrections in the text with the time, update both language versions together, and list them on the Corrections page. False reporting is retracted openly, never quietly replaced.
